35 Born abt 1854 in England. Married Eliza Tyson, also of England. They followed her parents (Thomas and Sarah Tyson) to America two years later in 1883.
After death of first wife, Eliza, (after 1896), John married his widowed sister-in-law, Sarah, and hellped her rear her children to adulthood. Then they devorced and Sarah resumed her maiden name of Tyson. Sarah died at age 86 and is buried in Montlawn Cemetery, Raleigh. John and Eliza are buried in the Tyson Family Cemetery, Raleigh.
